It is with great joy and excitement that we extend our warmest and most fraternal revolutionary greetings to the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) on the momentous and historic victory it has scored in the recent elections in that country.

The people of Nepal have spoken and the voice of a long oppressed, downtrodden and humiliated people has proved itself to be a mighty roar that has shaken the Himalayas and which will move the world!

The election results have completely vindicated the correct line of the CPN(M), led by Chairman Prachanda, to take the road of protracted people’s war, surrounding the cities from the countryside, whilst skilfully combining this with all other forms of struggle, including the parliamentary, building the party, the people’s army and the united front, which Comrade Mao Zedong correctly described as the three magic weapons, and advancing to the stage of nationwide victory against imperialism, feudalism and bureaucrat capitalism, so that the bright future of a new People’s Nepal can now be seen as a radiant dawn shimmering just over the horizon.

The victory of the CPN(M) does not belong to that party or to the Nepalese people alone – it is the common victory of the entire international communist movement, the international proletariat and all the oppressed nations and peoples.

The victory of the Nepalese revolution, confirming as it does the ever-victorious nature and timeless truth of Marxism Leninism, will be the most powerful support to the revolutionary communist forces in India and throughout South Asia.

Furthermore, at a time when US-led imperialism is instigating every conceivable backward and reactionary force to create turmoil in Tibet and undermine the People’s Republic of China, the victory in Nepal ensures that that country will absolutely not become a party to the attempted imperialist encirclement of China. Rather, the two brotherly countries can surely look forward to most friendly relations of mutual help and support.

As Comrade Mao Zedong pointed out at the time of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, this is just the first step in a long march. A protracted and arduous struggle still lies ahead for the CPN(M) and for the people of Nepal, against external and internal reactionaries and against age-old poverty and backwardness.

The CPGB-ML and the class-conscious workers of Britain will be with the Nepalese masses every step of the way. In carving out the new Nepal, they will be building our future as well.

Long live the Nepalese revolution!
